April in Zurich is the time for the beautiful traditional spring holiday of Sechseläuten.
Just after the parade of the guilds, the highlight of the holiday was the burning of winter in the form of the Böögg – a huge snowman stuffed with explosives. According to tradition, the length of time between the lighting of the pyre and the explosion of the head of the Böögg predicts the weather: a fast explosion equals warm weather, whereas a long one means a rather cold summer. This year the snowman burnt for 37:59 minutes. But let’s still hope for the warm and sunny summer season:)
In the Collana Bar and Caffe on Sechseläutenplatz, right in the heart of the action, the invited guests were enjoying the best view of the burning of the Böögg, drinking beer and eating “bratwurst”.
Collana Bar and Caffe, the enterprise of the Commercio Group Zurich of restaurants and bars, has become a meeting point in the heart of Zurich. It is the perfect place for a lunch break, an event on just a cup of coffee on a large terrace. The CEO of Commercio Group Nicolas von Graffenried personally greeted the honoured guests and guilds.
