In 2022 Swiss leaders in environmental and social sustainability are partnering up in founding the Responsible Hotels of Switzerland. The hotel cooperation is a showcase for responsible travellers who are considerate of nature and people and want to experience enriching and nature-oriented experiences. The cooperation promotes knowledge building and cross-sector networking.
The initiator of this hotel cooperation is the Responsible Hotels Association under the leadership of President Valentin Bot, who also manages the flagship Hotel Kartause Ittingen in Warth.
Twenty six hotels from 8 Swiss regions and star categories from 3 to 5 stars superior are united by this idea and vision.
“By a year from now, we would like to be a group of 40 to 50 hotels of strong character that pay high attention to the issue of sustainability,” says President of the association Valentin Bot.
26 Hotels With Individual Character And High Quality Standards
The member hotels are independent, characterful hotel establishments in beautiful locations. They take responsibility – all in their own way. Consistently regional purchasing, no plastic, accompanied workplaces, and apprenticeships or energy-saving infrastructures: all members demonstrate excellence in a specific area of application, practice a pioneering role and celebrate the deprivation-free Lifestyle of Responsibility & Sustainability. The member hotels have or will achieve sustainability certification, strive for the highest level III of Swissstainable (Switzerland Tourism) and work with sustainability partners.
A Voucher With Meaning And Symbolic Power
The website responsiblehotels.ch is constantly updated with comprehensive information on the sustainability efforts of the member hotels. But also special experiences that the individual establishments offer their guests, such as the silent walk on a snowy night, birdwatching in the bird sanctuary, or the forest bath, are listed on the website. A Responsible Hotels of Switzerland voucher, which one can be redeem at any member hotel, is a gift with meaning and symbolic power.
