Portofino Restaurant Péclard Zurich Thalwil

The famous Zurich restaurateur Michel Péclard and his business partner Florian Weber reopened “Portofino”, a dining establishment romantically situated at the Thalwil harbour near Zurich.  Chef Andrew Clayton, a 45-year-old Swiss-American, spoils guests with Italian inspired culinary delights.

The restaurant interior is lovely: bistro tables stand beautifully against a classic black and white mosaic floor.  Gorgeous lamps, handmade in Switzerland by a local glassblower, softly illuminate the space. The highlight of Portfino is certainly its proximity to the lake and its great views of the harbour. Portfino’s glass roof adds extra ambience to holiday celebrations, special events or dinners out. A new glass pavilion and wood fireplace keep the restaurant warm and cozy in the winter.

There is also a party boat that belongs to the restaurant where the best of the Péclard establishments is served. Seasonal favorites include the famous Swiss “Fischknusperli” (fish strips) in summer and cheese fondue in winter. The boat is the perfect addition to the lakeside restaurant, offering a place to enjoy drinks and light fare right on the water.
