The lovely Swiss town of Weggis boasts a superior 5-star hotel right in the city center. In addition to grand views of the lake and the Alps, the Park Weggis hotel offers 42 rooms in the main building and 10 elegant suites in the recently constructed annex. I had the pleasure of staying in one of the suites and was amazed by the majestic views of the lake and the mountains from the terrace of the room. Electronically controlled curtains separate the large Treca de Paris bed from the terrace, so I was greeted by breathtaking panoramic views of Swiss nature upon waking up in the morning.
There are also six spa cottages located in the beautiful Japanese garden. The variety of spa treatments is great. I personally went for the individual spa offer for two hours, which includes private access to a whirlpool, Finnish sauna, foot-bath and a cozy relaxation corner complete with a waterbed. The combination of wellness procedures and total privacy, along with tasty tea, fruit and lounge music made for an amazingly relaxing experience. I also thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful 15-meter open-air heated pool constructed in natural black stone.
In addition to enjoying Park Weggis’ spa offerings, I topped off my day with dinner at the Park Grill restaurant, which incorporates sustainably farmed ingredients and has a great wine selection. Be sure to try the Californian dessert wine – it’s fantastic!
Park Weggis also offers two more restaurants, bars and amenities like Lalique Caviar Bar, Beach Bar Lounge, Med Beauty Centre, a panorama library, wine cellar, private beach and even an art gallery. I had a very relaxing weekend at the hotel and felt fully recharged as if I were on holiday!
