Staying at the Park Hotel Vitznau is a pure bliss. The beautiful historic building is tastefully adorned with elegant and luxurious décor is in proximity to the Lake Lucerne. The hotel has an infinity pool for recreation, as well as one of the biggest wine cellars in Switzerland for an excellent dining experience.
Corridors are called “galleries”, and not in vain: while walking along them one can have a glimpse through the glass doors into the suites (if they not occupied) and see that each of them has been individually designed. Park Hotel Vitznau boasts of 47 rooms with 15 junior suites and 17 residences with space between 45m2 and 160m2. I stayed in the stylish Escoffier suite with a lake view, sunny balcony, marble bathroom and lots of space to relax and enjoy the highest level of comfort.
The spa center of the hotel allows you to dive into another world full of relaxation and recreation with its breathtaking infinity pool, lakeshore sunbeds, whirlpool, aquarium, steam bath, and various spa treatments.
The Park Hotel Vitznau has 6 wine cellars with more than 32’000 wine bottles, and 152 wines are certificated with 100 points of Parker. It’s worth noting that tasting and tours can also be booked for external guests. Fine wine accompanies fine dining at restaurant Focus, awarded with 17 points Gault Millau, which has a wonderful terrace and chef’s table option. Chef de Cuisine Patrick Mahler surprised us with delicious meat and fish dishes from local ingredients with amazing presentation. Be sure not to skip the dessert:) After-dinner drinks await at Verlinde Relais Gourmand Cognac Bar, which offers 200 vintage Armagnacs and Cognacs. The bar’s immense windows facing the lake and onyx stone elements make for a chic and cozy place for a drink.
Numerous hotel walls are decorated by original works from the talented French painter Claude Verlinde, all of which fascinate with their unique mystery and storytelling.
