On the 11th of March 2023, the Opera House, Zurich invited guests to express their dramatic flair. Over 800 partygoers attended, celebrating the “Overdress!” Costume Party.
Admission was only permitted in disguise — the more dramatic, the better. The ticket holders also had an exclusive opportunity to rent or purchase a costume from the Opera House Zurich costume storage in Oerlikon.
DJs from the Zurich club “Mascotte” created an exuberant dancing atmosphere. However, the electro-swing band “Klischée” — headed by the singer Marena Whitcher — was the live musical act of the evening.
Shortly before midnight, the costume contest was hosted by the drag queen Gossipa and entertainer Luca Papini. The most unusual costumes were presented on a 16-meter-long catwalk. Amidst much confetti, a top-class jury finally awarded the winners.
The party then continued until the early hours of the morning.
Mythical and mystical creatures, animals, historical, movie and cartoon and fairytale characters, superheroes – the creativity and imagination of the guests had no limits. The event was full of fun, glitter, IG-worthy moments — and lots of dancing moves on the main stage of the beautifully adorned-for-the-occasion Opera House, Zurich.
