This past weekend, Zurich’s iconic Opera House transformed into a spectacular stage for Overdress! 2025, the city’s grand costume festival. With nearly 2,000 guests in extravagant and imaginative disguises, the night was an explosion of creativity, music, and glamour.
The event featured an electrifying lineup of live performances. From the energetic beats of Shantel & Bucovina Club Soundsystem to the smooth Motown grooves of Soultrain and the electronic sounds of Fiji, the festival delivered a musical journey like no other. The Swiss party band MAXiN! made a triumphant return, while DJs like Louis de Fumer, Cup of Jazz, and Bensai kept the dance floors alive across multiple stages.
For those looking to refuel in between dance sessions, the newly opened restaurant Lulu, alongside legendary venues like Baur au Lac, Bar Sacchi, and Turicum Distillery, provided exquisite refreshments. Meanwhile, Café Lulu added a playful touch by transforming into a karaoke bar, hosted by Cat LeChat, a well-known figure in Zurich’s LGBTQ+ scene.
Adding an artistic flair to the night, local Zurich artists Kati Rickenbach and Anete Melece engaged guests in a live painting experience, making the festival not just about costumes but also about interactive creativity.
As the night stretched into the early hours of the morning, the festival left a trail of unforgettable memories. With its blend of music, art, and high-energy celebrations, Overdress! 2025 proved once again why it’s one of Zurich’s most anticipated and extravagant nights of the year.
