This year IWC Schaffhausen became the partner of the 10th Zurich Film Festival. I decided to get a bit closer to the world of movie stars, fashion photography and world famous Swiss watch manufacturing. Last week on Saturday there was a launch of the new collection of IWC mid-size watches, “Portofino”, and opening of the photo exhibition at the Zurich Film Festival center by star photographer Peter Lindbergh.
This exhibition called “Timeless Portofino” contains pictures from the photo shoot that was organized by IWC in a small, nice Italian harbor town Portofino. The exhibition features movie stars (Cate Blanchette, Christoph Waltz, Emily Blunt, Ewan McGregor and Zhou Xun) and supermodels (Karolina Kurkova, Adriana Lima) wearing IWC timepieces. I loved the exhibition! The pictures depict the spirit and atmosphere of Italian lifestyle, classic clothes and accessories. Watch this amazing video that illustrates how it all was.
During the launch of the collection at Spiegelraum of Opera House in Zurich, I had the chance to have a closer look at the watches and try on those that I liked the most. Some of the watches of the Portofino family have diamonds and some are quite modest and classy. There are also timepieces with diamonds that look quite harmonic and not flashy.
