The recently reopened for the new season 2023, Il Sereno Luxury Hotel sits on Lake Como, just an overnight flight away from its sister property: Le Sereno, St. Barths and 3 hour drive from Zurich. Equally as modern — but with a touch of Italian elegance — the property is the ultimate vantage point to enjoy all Lago di Como, the town of Torno, and the surrounding Lario region has to offer.
Winner of the Condé Nast Readers’ Choice 2022 and Travel & Leisure’s #1 Italian Hotel 2021, the Il Sereno Hotel Como is a showstopper. Part of the privately-owned Sereno Hotels Group, it befits the portfolio — including the closely-situated Villa Pliniana and Le Sereno Villas, St. Barths.
II Sereno’s award-winning architect, Patricia Urquiola, celebrated the surrounding region and area in her design. The Spanish designer prioritized the lake and embraced natural materials for a timeless, elegant look.
Each of the 40 light-filled 1- or 2-bedroom hotel suites (ranging from 45-200 sqm) boasts floor-to-ceiling windows with both indoor and outdoor terrace views of the lake. Grand high ceilings only elevate the views, further adding to the spaciousness, light, and calm.
II Sereno boasts all the frills you’d expect of an award-winning 5-star hotel. An infinity pool, top-of-the-line spa, fully-outfitted gym, a private dock — and swim-up access. A unique feature that you won’t currently find at any other hotel near Lake Como. From the dock, guests can also hire customized all-wood Cantiere Ernesto Riva motor boats with which to explore the surrounding water and coastlines — no boat license required.

A top-of-the-line spa located under centuries-old original stone arches offers mindfulness-focused treatments with products from the Swiss brand Valmont. The 30-meter heated infinity pool that seems to float above the lake offers the best view of the surroundings.
Restaurant Al Lago
Guests of the Il Sereno Hotel Como are in for a gastronomic delight, courtesy of Michelin-starred restaurant, Ristorante Il Sereno Al Lago. Run by Naples-born Executive Chef, Raffaele Lenzi, expect to be immersed in Italian cuisine — particularly of the Lombardy region.
Dining is local, featuring fresh herbs direct from the hotel garden, freshly-caught fish, and homemade olive oil — as well as wines, cured meats, and cheeses from producers in the nearby valleys.
For those seeking a nightcap, views, or to socialize, the Il Sereno Lobby Bar is open daily from mid-morning until late, serving cocktails, wines, spirits, and mocktails.
