“kino für alle” Oper House Zurich

Last year, we already practised with a movie night featuring La La Land and Florence Foster Jenkins, this time we’re getting serious and celebrate kino für alle. The evening before oper für alle, two movies will be shown on Sechseläutenplatz, on the big screen and for free. You decided which films these are: we have compiled a longlist of 47 films with references to opera, ballet or music, which was supplemented with ideas from you, dear audience. From this longlist, a jury consisting of the Swiss film composer Mirjam Skal, the Artistic Director of the Zurich Film Festival Christian Jungen and our Artistic Director Andreas Homoki created a shortlist of 8 films. We have put these films to a public vote and thus back into your hands – more than 5000 people responded to our call. So now on Friday evening, 14 June 2024, the coming-of-age dance film Billy Elliot and A Star Is Born with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga will flicker across our big screen and offer the ideal opportunity for a summer picnic with your favourite people!
