The Hotel Einstein is located just a few steps from St. Gallen Old Town and the world-famous UNESCO Abbey District.
The classicist building – which was used in 1830 for fabric finishing and later operated as an embroidery factory – now features 113 4-star rooms and suites and is the highest-classified hotel in the city. Its modern fitness and wellness areas span three floors of the building, featuring saunas, steam baths, relaxation rooms, various adventure showers, and more.
For dining, guests are spoilt for choice with culinary delights high above the rooftops of St. Gallen in the Michelin-starred Einstein Gourmet restaurant, at any time of day in the Einstein Bistro, or after-hours in the Einstein Bar with adjoining Davidoff Cigar Lounge.
Sebastian Zier and Richard Schmidtkonz – the two chefs at Einstein Gourmet St. Gallen – were awarded 18 GaultMillau points and two Michelin stars in October 2023. Do not miss to enjoy the restaurant’s signature dish – the St. Gallen rose.
The jewel in the crown of the Hotel Einstein is the Bordeaux limestone vaulted wine cellar – newly opened in 2020 – which is home to over 2,800 wines, including world-renowned Swiss wines, many fine champagnes, and numerous rarities from Bordeaux and Burgundy. The restaurant sommelier and manager Loris Lenzo will gladly show you around and suggest the best wine choices for the dishes.
While in St. Gallen, do not miss the Abbey Library (containing over 170 000 religious texts), the Catholic religious complex, and the Abbey of St. Gall, as well as the world-famous textile museum.
