The annual Blue Balls music festival in Lucerne takes place in the top location of this beautiful Swiss city: in and around the Culture and Convention center KKL, just at the lakeside with a panoramic city view. With around 100,000 visitors Blue Balls is one of the largest festivals in Switzerland with a history dating back to the 1990s.
Blue Balls 2018 was a huge success with the best summer weather, 120 music and art events and many talented Swiss and international artists, musicians and bands.
Apart from numerous concerts there was much to discover during the festival this year: a street art show, a photo exhibition by the Irish photographer Leonn Ward, a video lounge, live music in front of the concert hall, after parties in the hotel Schweizerhof Lucerne, food stands etc.
Eels, Jessie J, LP, Alanis Morissette, Wolfmother, Melody Gardot, Beverley Knight, Gary Clark Jr., Seven, Tom Odell and others were performing in Lucerne, filling the concerts halls and talking about their life and music career during the talk show “Meet The Artists”.
The face of this year’s Blue Balls festival was a charming young British singer songwriter Keir who impressed the audience during his show in KKL with his extraordinary voice.
I attended several shows: the powerful performance of Keir, Tom Odell with many improvisations and brand new songs and LP who turned the seated concert into a standing party. I enjoyed the energy, soul and amazing music and am eager to share with you some photos and a video from the Blue Balls 2018.
Do not miss the next Blue Balls edition in 2019 that will take place 19.07. – 27.07.19.
