Since its inception in 1861, the Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne has been hosting legendary international guests, the likes of which include Coco Chanel, Sofia Loren, Liza Minnelli, Nelson Mandela and Victor Hugo. The Beau-Rivage boasts 168 rooms, including 34 marvelous suites. The hotel is located in the gardens of Lake Geneva in the Ouchy district, not far from the city center.
There are numerous dining options offered at the hotel: the Michelin two-star rated restaurant, Anne-Sophie Pic, is very elegant in style, and Café Beau-Rivage offers the best view of the Alps. Get your sushi fix at Le Miyako, or enjoy a cocktail at the cozy lobby lounge and bar. Moreover, the Beau-Rivage Palace regularly hosts grand events and has chic banquet and meeting rooms with the capacity to host up to 600 people.
I stayed in a very spacious, bright and chic junior suite that faced the French Alps and the lake. The room had everything needed for one to relax and admire the charm of the city, including two balconies, a luxurious bathroom and large windows. I loved the interior design, which incorporated soothing soft beige colors that added to the calming effect of the suite.
I also pampered myself with the wellness amenities offered at the hotel. The spa area is amazingly large, with both an outdoor heated pool and an indoor pool with Jacuzzi. Other relaxation options include private spa suites, sauna access and various beauty treatments from Cinq Mondes Concept.
I enjoyed my princess-like stay at the Beau-Rivage Palace, relishing in the history of the hotel and its charming winter holiday atmosphere.
