The Swiss brand Fabric Frontline has its own special and creative approach to the winter season! This year’s FW 17/18 collection, “Winter Stills”, focuses on colours, rare blossoms and jewelry. Still arrangements and floral bouquets lend the cold days of winter a cheerful and warm note, displaying their winter tales on the unique handmade scarves and shawls. The so-called Christmas rose, a gorgeous flower that has a winter flowering period and is frost resistant, plays the main part in the collection.
The Anastasia scarf with typical Russian patterns and strong colouring is like an heirloom piece of jewelry that is given from generation to generation, collecting stories of its owners. The Hellebore foulard stands for Fabric Frontline classics and tradition, and its large blossoming Christmas roses look amazing on this iconic piece. The Lunaria scarf displays the unusual moon plant with its small moons lightening up the piece like the Milky Way. The Kaleidoscope foulard reminds one of the classic childhood toy with its glass mosaic patterns and roses.
The wintery Fabric Frontline accessories are made of high quality material such as silk, twill, cashmere and Merino wool.
While discovering the new collection, I was lucky enough to look behind the scenes of this traditional Swiss brand and meet the design team. They shared with me the stages of their creative work starting from the mood boards, hand drawings, color and fabric selection, to their quality control process of the fabrics that arrive from an old traditional Italian atelier, to the completion of the collections which always have a story to tell. It was amazing to see how the designers work and how much attention and love is given to every detail to create unique and timeless accessories.
