New York, being a city of world events, technology, finance and innovation was a perfect match to the Formula E experience I had thanks to the famous global payments technology company, Visa.
Launched in 2014, FIA Formula E Championship is the world’s first fully electric racing series with exclusively battery-powered cars. New York City ePrix took place on the sunny weekend of 15-16.07.17 at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook. The iconic backdrop of Lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty, the 1.947km track with 10 corners, the opportunity to visit the garages and witness preparations of the teams and an amazing sound of the race made the experience unforgettable!
Being an official partner of this unique event, Visa did a great job, organizing a cashless payment zone for the visitors of ePrix and helping local businesses around the area of the race go cashless. Digital ways to pay is also an idea I would love to support and I think the sustainable technology message of the Formula E goes well together with the innovative payment solutions.
