The Swiss Music Awards is the biggest music ceremony in Switzerland, honouring the best work in the music industry of the previous year. At this important promotional event for Swiss music, both new talents and successful artists are awarded in fifteen categories.
The Swiss Music Awards 2024 took place in Zürich Hallenstadion. Hosted by Melanie Winiger and Annina Frey, it was highlighted by numerous live performances by national and international acts.
The Latin musician Loco Escrito performed his three Best Hit hit songs, “Punto” and “Adios.” Naomi Lareine stunned with her new song “Colorblind” and Linda Ely’s “House on Fire.” Great international musicians also set the mood: Ray Dalton with “Can’t Hold Us,” “Do It Again,” and his new single, “All We Got,” and Rea Garvey feat. Picture This with their new song “Somewhere Close To Heaven.” Calum Scott also enchanted the Hallenstadion with his love song “At Your Worst.”’
This year’s Best Male Act award went to someone who has already been nominated four times but has always come away empty-handed: the pop singer Baschi. Popular throughout Switzerland, he finally collected one of the highly sought-after concrete blocks. The winner of the Best Female Act award is Joya Marleen, the 20-year-old musician from St. Gallen who became famous with her hit “Nightmare.” Bernese cult band Züri West even picked up their sixth award, this time in the Best Group category.
