For over a century, Restaurant Buech has sat perched above the municipality of Herrliberg.
Surrounded by tall beech trees and an old vineyard, this countryside tavern is as charming as its surroundings. Here, guests are welcomed as warmly as one would expect at such an establishment — both by the team and the refined culinary delights on offer.
Seasonal fine dining dishes pair perfectly with delicate wines from the region and afar, here — and particularly well with the stunning views of Lake Zurich. Best enjoyed from the outdoor seating areas, you can also view them from indoors during the winter or on chillier days. In fact, the Buech features multiple indoor dining areas, including private heated banqueting rooms that you can book for groups or events with catering.
Cosy and intimate, every piece of furniture and decor is a work of art — from the antique carved wooden folk art chairs to the polished wooden panelling. So, it was only fitting that the actual works of art that adorn the walls of the premises are of equal or greater calibre. Gallerist and art collector Bruno Bischofberger was key in securing works from the likes of Basquiat, Warhol, Gauguin, Matisse, and Le Corbusier, which you can view in the Buech’s two main dining rooms.
Your trip to and from the Buech can be as memorable as your dining experience, as well. You can book the Buech’s own boat to pick you up from either the Storchen Hotel in Zurich or Alex on Zurich Lake, whisking you away to the restaurant – and back after your meal.
