During the annual Opera Ball in Zurich, I had the pleasure of getting to know the creator behind the Swiss fine jewelry brand, Doris Hangartner, notable for its high-quality gems.
On a sunny Saturday in Zurich, we were greeted with a smile of the brand’s founder, Doris Hangartner, in the boutique Storchengasse 21 in Zürich. We viewed and tried on the gorgeous jewelry her company had to offer and learned more about the stones that go into them. Aquamarines, Paraiba Tourmalines, Malayan Zircons, Lagoon Tourmaline, Baroque south sea pearls, diamonds, were just a few of the gorgeous gems we discovered while getting ready for the ball.
Doris Hangartner loves rare, high-quality gems and enjoys showcasing their beauty in one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces. These fine gems are displayed in beautiful settings white, yellow and rose gold, as well as platinum. Each gem is of superior color, cut, and quality, creating a stunning piece of jewelry with inherent value. Doris Hangartner searches the world to find stones that are special, and only uses the most exquisite gems in her pieces.
After the glamorous red carpet with photographers and Opera house entertainers in colorful costumes follwed a cocktail reception and gala dinner. After the meal, the official ball program started. Opera singers, ballet dancers, and orchestral music adorned the floors of the opera house. Debutantes opened the ball, fitting with tradition. The night was long and fun. Guests could unwind at the bar, listen to the pianist in the mirror salon, enjoy the city lights on the terrace, try their hand at salsa, participate in a giveaway from the ball’s partners, and relax in the elegant atmosphere.
With gorgeous décor, women dressed in glamorous evening gowns, mesmerizing colours from the sparkling jewelry, and an elegant ambience all-round, being at the ball was like being a princess straight out of a fairy-tale.
